Ecologist
Sally Donovan is an Ecology Ph.D. candidate at the University of Minnesota, with the Minneapolis-St. Paul Urban Long Term Ecological Research Program. She uses vegetation surveys, satellite data, and social surveys to examine how human and biophysical factors shape plant biodiversity—and how that biodiversity, in turn, influences urban forests’ responses to stressors like drought. By applying biodiversity–stability theory to real-world urban contexts, her work offers insights for urban forest management and resilience under climate change. A Fulbright Scholar and NSF Graduate Research Fellow, she holds a BA from Carleton College and an MS from Yale University.
